UFC Fight Night Lewis vs Daukaus Rapid Fire Picks
Tune in now, the last card of the year is a banger!
We're back for the last UFC card of the year, and this one's a banger! The Black Beast is back to help ring in the holidays with a solid matchup vs the solid up and coming prospect (and Philly cop) Chris Daukaus. A quick note — as our usual bookie Bovada has been experience downtime over the last 24 hrs we won't have detailed live line info like usual, please bear with us! The picks today will be in rapid fire fashion, so let's cut right to it:
Mateusz Gamrot vs Carlos Diego Ferreira
I hate picking against Ferreira here who is more technically skilled on the ground and so well versed on the feet too. He stands a better chance of clipping Gamrot early, otherwise he's been looking long in the tooth lately which makes Gamrot’s style the perfect foil for him.
Bank on Mateusz
Cub Swanson vs Darren Elkins
This might be my favorite matchup of the night, and it's the main card opener! Two staples of the 45 division finally bang it out.
Conventional wisdom says Cub by KO in the 1st or 2nd or The Damage by RNC in the late 2nd or 3rd. I'll stick with that, with a small split on Cub by decision. He's been the sharper, more atheltic fighter lately and if he can land enough damage early and avoid the drowning from Darren he should be able to get the W even without a finish.
Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson vs Belal Muhammed
I'm definitely a bit biased here but I just don't think “Remember The Name” is on Wonderboy’s level. He's tenacious and will test the wrestling D and cardio, but Wonderboy is too slick on the feet and should be able to maintain his signature distance while getting in and out to score. Most likely a decision win as Belal is tough as nails, doesn't get finished, and also isn't the counter KO threat some of Wonderboy’s previous opponents have been.
Bank on the karate kid.
Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis vs Chris Daukaus
Daukaus is more technically skilled as a boxer and wrestler than the Black Beast (with better cardio), but Lewis has made a career knocking out fighters more technically skilled than himself.
Daukaus could be trouble for Lewis but I just don't see him being big or strong enough to hold Lewis down from top position, as Lewis is a get-up machine, and so the more likely route to victory is outboxing Lewis on the feet. That's a dangerous game to play with the Knockout King.
The Black Beast KO’s the cop in the late 1st, 2nd, or early 3rd.
There's a small chance this fight gets into the 4th, so real degens should bet up to that rd.
That's all for this week folks, get your bets in and enjoy the last UFC card of the year, it should be a great one!
P.S. Stay tuned for line updates pending Bovada availability and also potentially some picks for the Woodley vs Paul 2 card tonight!
Belal melting Wonderboy's wrestling D to the tune of 6 or 7 takedowns en route to busting this pick!
